It’s officially spring in the city!
Ever since I got here, everyone has told me how gorgeous it gets in the spring. Well, they were right! The biggest difference between Los Angeles and New York City that I’ve noticed are all the pretty flowers. With the warm temps in SoCal year round, you don’t really notice seasons changing.
I’ve seen tulips, roses and different trees filled with bright blooms. My favorite has to be the pink cherry blossom trees that line the streets near our East Village apartment.
It was such a nice day out that I grabbed Mel and our camera to have a fun impromptu photoshoot before going out to dinner with friends. I found this secluded spot near our apartment with the prettiest cherry blossom trees. I always pass them on the street while going home, and literally every time I walk by I think of how pretty they are!
For our fun outing, I wore this adorable Topshop stripe wrap dress that I instantly fell in love with. The ruffles add a feminine touch while the light blue hue makes it perfect for the warmer months ahead. I’m already thinking of so many different occasions I can wear this dress to — to brunch, the office and even date nights. I’ll keep it more casual with some sandals or white sneakers (my Adidas shoes are glued to my feet!) or dress it up with some nude stilettos (like my favorite from Stuart Weitzman) for a more nighttime appropriate look.
This was Mel’s first time behind the camera and the pictures turned out wonderful! He did such an amazing job! We had a couple of hiccups the first 20 minutes or so trying to figure out what we both wanted in the pictures, but he really had a creative vision and made me feel comfortable posing in front of the camera. What do you guys think?
